The
durian is a very popular fruit in Asia. It is usually about 23 centimeters
long. It grows on a tall tree and has a very thick skin. The skin is light
green and sometimes light brown.
When
the fruit is opened you find large seed inside. Around the seed is the thick
white flesh of the durian, which people like to eat. The flesh has an unsual
taste. Some people think it like soap while a lot of people think it has the
most delicious taste in the world.
The
most famous thing about the durian is its smell. You can tell when durians are
on sale because the whole market smells of durians. In some hotels in the large
cities, durians are forbidden because of the smell. But people still try to
carry them secretly to their rooms.
