Menikmati saat teduh

 Slmt pg buat kita semua..

Titus 3:9 (TB)  Tetapi hindarilah persoalan yang dicari-cari dan yang bodoh, persoalan silsilah, percekcokan dan pertengkaran mengenai hukum Taurat, karena semua itu tidak berguna dan sia-sia belaka.

Bagi yang ber-saat teduh dengan Yesaya  , saya bagi perbandingan terjemahan. Kiranya semakin memperkaya pemahaman. Terima kasih

Catatan

Catatan

Cudgel; The Hebrew text has "every blow from a founded [i.e., "appointed"?] cudgel." The translation above, with support from a few medieval Hebrew MSS, assumes an emendation of 诪讜ּ住ָ讚ָ讛 (musadah, "founded") to 诪讜ּ住ָ专ֹ讛 (musaroh, "his discipline").

he will attack them with his weapons;  The Hebrew text reads literally, "and with battles of brandishing [weapons?] he will fight against him." Some prefer to emend 讞诪讜ֹ转l.mib.W (uv®milkhamot, "and with battles of") to 讜ּ讘ִ诪ְ讞ֹ诇讜ֹ转 (uvimkholot, "and with dancing"). Note the immediately preceding references to musical instruments.

the burial place; The Hebrew text reads literally, "for arranged from before [or "yesterday"] is [?]." The meaning of 转ָּ驻ְ转ֶּ讛 (taf®teh), which occurs only here, is unknown. The translation above (as with most English versions) assumes an emendation to 转ֹּ驻ֶ转 (tofet, "Topheth"; cf. NASB, NIV, NLT) and places the final hey (讛) on the beginning of the next word as an interrogative particle. Topheth was a place near Jerusalem used as a burial ground (see Jer 7:32; 19:11).

Topheth The meaning of the word is much in dispute. W. Robertson Smith ("Rel. of Sem." p. 227, note) connects it with an Aramaic loan-word which means "fireplaces." The formation of the word is similar to that of "Molech" and "Ashtoreth."
